9 Brutal Torture Techniques That Were Practiced Until Recently

Advertisements

The UN Convention Against Torture has defined torture as: “…any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him, or a third person, information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed… [continued].

Torture is illegal in most countries, as dictated by Geneva Conventions. However, there are sickening forms of torture that are practiced even today or were practiced only a few years ago. And they are listed here below:

1. Sensory Deprivation

Certainly the worst form of torture, depriving one of his/her senses is the most agonizing torture technique. The torturer not only handcuffs the victim, but also blindfolds, plugs his ears and nose to deprive him of 3 out of 5 senses: Seeing, Hearing, Smelling. This has proved to work instantaneously as the poor victim is unable to withstand the loss of his senses.

This technique is used, in one way or the other, in all other techniques.

2. Strappado / Palestinian Hanging

The ‘Palestinian Hanging’ is a vile form of torture in which the victim’s hands are tied behind his back, a tight rope is then passed over a pully and attached to victim’s hands such that the victim hangs over the ground. To further intensify the victim’s suffering, weights are attached.

3. Sleep Deprivation

Another type of torture is sleep deprivation, in which the victim is often made to stand vertically and then whenever he tries to sleep, he is physically harassed, subjected to loud/jarring sounds and bright lights. Sleep is something one has to get in order to remain peaceful and calm. However, when he is not allowed to do so, he will obviously go crazy. This technique is repeated over and over again until the desired results are obtained.

ex-Prime Minister of Israel Menachem Begin described his experience with sleep deprivation as follows:

In the head of the interrogated prisoner, a haze begins to form. His spirit is wearied to death, his legs are unsteady, and he has one sole desire: to sleep… Anyone who has experienced this desire knows that not even hunger and thirst are comparable with it.

4. Subjection to Extreme Heat/Cold

Extreme heat or cold is very unpleasant. When this is done on a victim when he is already tensed and stressed, it becomes a simple way of torturing. Victim is stripped then put inside a cell (or outdoors, depending on climate) and then made to face extreme heat (up to 50 degrees Celsius) or extreme cold (under 0 degrees Celsius). This technique is in use today.

5. Sexual Harassment (Rape/Sodomy)

Having sexual intercourse or oral/anal sex with someone against someone’s will is called sexual assault. Rape and Sodomy are two different things, but they are generally used to imply the same thing.

In this form of torture, the tormented victim is raped. It really does not matter if the victim is male or female (as proved with Abu Ghuraib). Raping leaves the victim psychologically and physically damaged and anguished.

6. Waterboarding

Waterboarding was once included in the ‘Enhanced Interrogation Techniques’ list by CIA, however it is (officially) no longer allowed. Waterboarding involves pinning the victim on his back with head inclined downwards, covering his/her face with a porous cloth (i.e. with tiny holes/passages in it). Water is then poured in great amounts over the victim’s face, inducing the mammalian diving reflex which can cause extreme pain, damage to lungs/brain and even broken bones if the victim tries to free himself.

It is, however, not currently confirmed if waterboarding is in use of the US intelligence agencies as Department of Defense refuses to give a formal statement on this.

7. Lynching

Lynching is a type of torture in which not a single individual but an entire mob takes part in the torturing of a victim. Victim is hanged and then beaten to death. This form of torture was prevalent in the United States during the 1950s-1960s when racial segregation was an issue of national level and victims were mostly African-Americans. However, thanks to the efforts of Martin Luther King, lynching is no longer exercised.

8. Forced Standing

“I stand for 8-10 hours a day,” Donald Rumsfeld wrote in a 2002 interrogation memo. “Why is standing limited to four hours?” Rumsfeld would probably feel a little differently about this if he had to stand in place for 8-10 hours, which can cause ankle swelling, bruising, and excruciating pain. (via Civil Liberty)

9. Death By A Thousand Cuts

This absolutely horrible form of torture was prevalent in China as late as 1905. The victim was tortured by cutting/slicing him with the use of a very sharp knife. Torture usually started with the cutting out of the eyes. This was done to blind the victim for the rest of the act so as to increase mental agony. Successive cuts would sever the victim’s ears, nose, lips, fingers, toes and ultimately large parts of flesh. The entire process would take over 3 days.

Cringed, aren’t we? What a sick sick world we live in.

As usual sick and inhumane techniques carried out by the whites against poor women and children in disadvantaged countries. SO WHATS NEW

    • dave says:

      yes, the whites.
      fuck off racist.

    • andy says:

Other than the lynching where do they mention whites doing? I think we should still torture people, especially terrorists, the stuff they do to our soldiers is far worse than anything that we do to them.

      • Tori says:

You’re ‘soilders’ will go into other people’s countries, and start killing women, children, and elderly people. The Middle East was a beautiful country before the stupid soliders from this country went and bombed it all.

You’re lack of correct information is as large as you’re lack of brain.

We can see you’re stupidity just as well as your ignorance.

        • Dimtri says:

Dude, the middle east has sucked sinced the fuckin Crusades, what the fuck are you talking about? Go fix your turban and suck Bin Laden’s dick, you asshole.

        • Pete says:

Seriously, the middle east has never been beautiful. It has a history of violence going back thousands of years. Look into it.

      • Caitlyn says:

Other than what Tori says (which makes sense), if you look in tons of History books, whites invade countries (South Africa, China, Thailand..what country DIDN’T they invade?), they also had a disgusting History of acting cruel to whoever wasn’t white, and setting barriors and stupid rules in other people’s OWN lands, and the list which goes on, which is sickening.

        • Pete says:

Assuming that you’re serious. Invading has been a global pass time for every race of men you can think of. As for brutality, look into what the native americans (north and south) did to each other. Or the great kingdoms of Asia. Or the muslims. You are pointing at the whites because that’s probably the only history you have ever known about. Get educated, that’ll balance you right out.

        • Wessel says:

          Caitlyn

Are you an American and are you white ????

WHAT THE FUCK has South Africa got to do with your extremely braindead argument
If you live in the USA(assumption) Where do think you come from? You INVADED the Americas and currently trying to invade the World ASSHOLE !!!!!
You fucks have done way more atrocities against the native Americans( Red Indian tribes )and African Americans .ditto for those arrogant Australians ,than we ever dreamed of doing to our Native people.
Your argument suck dick big time…Rather keep your mouth shut and let people think you are stupid ,than opening your mouth and confirming the fact ! Now go play with your toys child !!

    • brad says:

wow your not racist at all for example since when are the Chinese white

  4. Jo says:

Bullshit, nobody was raped at abu ghuraib. So, your saying that having to stand up for hours in your underware is torture. reading these stupid comments is just as bad as torture

    • Kedi says:

you’re in denial aren’t you? it happened whether you want to believe it or not. get your head out of the sand and face reality.

also it is torture to stand up for hours, at least beyond endurance.. some people (like me) might not be able to stay on our feet that long on one spot, whether low endurance or from medical reason.

your comment has to be the dumbest one here.

      • JO says:

Your wrong and undeserving of a reply, but here goes. So just because someone is made uncomfortable it is torture in your mind. What a load of shit. That is war you dumbass. Just because some reporter with your mentallitysays this shit about ABHU GHURAIB you run with it like its the facts. The Iranians, saudis, iraqis, turks, lebanese are raping as we speak, but you wont believe that . Blame AMERICA first you dick head

    • Dick says:

You are a fool and need to open your eyes a bit.. All they did was make people stand around in the underwear!! You fucking idiot, I hope you die a horrible, painful death.

      • JO says:

You need to quit looking at porn and use that computer for something else like actually reading some news from more than one source. I might just do that,”I hope you die a horrible painful death” but there are things worse than death. One that comes to mind would be having you as a friend dip shit.Your name is perfect

      • Hope says:

        woah woah woah…..rude

    • anon says:

So, you worked there and knew what went on? The U.S. Military forces its troops to stand completely still when in rank not only as a means of providing a situation in which information and instruction may be conducted efficiently without interruption, but also to toughen them up, sometimes making them stand for extended periods of time as punishment, but never for a full day. Next time you go to work, try standing perfectly still without lifting either foot off the ground. If you can do this for more than fifteen minutes without feeling discomfort, you are probably in excellent physical shape. Please, don’t attempt it with your knees ‘locked’ back, as it cuts off blood flow and can cause you to lose consciousness.

    • Somali Man says:

I came from somalia and you don’t know, but somalia is safe for the general public, excluding whites because,well…..almost EVERY white person i’ve met since i was a kid was a complete douchebag.I’ve had adult teachers
insult my race and religion and kids who would call me a dirty nigger. This is the reality of the U.S and Canada and the few whites who aren’t racist fags are completely oblivious, or just don’t want to admit it.Face it,you white people are greedy fucktards and racist assholes.

When the british “discovered” Africa, they kidnapped people, put them in museums and labelled them “savages” all because they didn’t speak the same language,or didn’t care about technical advancements when humanity does not need it.

  8. faggots says:

  9. VikingBerserker says:

The one on lynching is incorrect. Lynching is not always hanging somebody.

  10. Sam says:

Human beings without the sense of God can design the most horrible ways to demonstrate their depravity. We just need Christ in our hearts to put back humanity in our selves. The worst is yet to come as the one world government takes center stage

    • PKN says:

“Human beings without the sense of God can design the most horrible ways to demonstrate their depravity”

yeah? is that a fact now, so those that torture people in the name of their religion are all cool..? Do some research om the church. You’ll find that most of those depraved individuals are among the most religious of people.

      • Aidan says:

I have to agree with PKN. A lot of people (sane or otherwise) kill ‘in the name of God’. It’s ridiculous, why would God, apparently the being who created everyone in his image, want you to kill someone else?

If you’re christian or whatever, you don’t need to read the bible to know what the 10 commandments are. They’re easy to follow and should be followed by everyone (I’m an athiest, so I’m not being bias).

Watch a documentary/movie called “Zeitgeist”. Fairly interesting viewing for you to base some opinions on.

        -Aidan.

        • Voice of Reason says:

Do you christians really believe god created you in his image….if thats true than you guys really are either 1.unimaginative ,or 2. Self Centered

You look nothing like god,God looks nothing like you.God is the most beautiful of all in existance, but we are still beautiful in gods eyes.

and do you really believe that Jesus Christ “the son of god” could die,and died for your sins, when if he was a demigod of some sort, clear your sins without dieing.

Do you really believe you can do what ever you want as long as you love him? Your just deluding yourselves and justifying your horrible deeds to yourself. If god is fair,if god is just, than you should be judge on your deeds, whether you worship him or not,and you know what….God is just,God is fair. You WILL be judged for the stuff you do.You WILL be damned for the bad you do,and you WILL be rewarded for the good you do.

and for you athiests/darwinists out there ,don’t believe in logic, for its not absolute. If the big bang happened, then what caused it other than an almighty being(God),if the big bang was an accident and not by the will of god, then how could an explosion suddenly appear with no cause, something MUST have caused that explosion,An explosion is a rapid increase in volume and release of energy in an extreme manner, The energy and volume MUST have came from somewhere, atleast according to YOUR BELOVED logic .

          • Reason? says:

I am not religious and neither am I a darwinist. I try not to concern myself with the beginning of existence and the afterlife… My belief is we are here so appreciate it before we die. Though what constantly bugs me is this sort of conversation:

Christian/Other religious person: Who created the energy for the big bang?
            Atheist/Darwinist: It was just there
Christian: Thats impossible nothing can be ‘just there’ there obviously had to be a god/higher being to create the big bang
            Atheist: So who created god?
            Christian: he’s just there already

Religion has flaws as does science, every body needs some sort of faith or belief system and life would be a hell of a lot easier if everyone realised that people can believe whatever they want whether it’s flawed or not instead of picking apart the pieces of every body elses belief systems and trying to shove their belief’s down other peoples throats.

        • Sarah Jo says:

Just because God doesn’t want others to kill one another doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. We ARE human and have free will. Evil is also very prevelant in the world and often takes control. There isn’t one place in this world that evil isn’t rampant. There also isn’t anywhere that deserves these kinds of tortures and the hatred that is delt. I think the reason that all these kinds of conversations go on here is because deep down everyone wants to believe that people are good. And, unfortunately, that is just not the case. I know there are many good people in this world and not all are tied to a religion of some sort. There is plenty room for many different kinds of everything in this world. But just as there are many good people there are bad people to counteract that good. That is how it will be until our existance comes to an end unfortunately. But in the meantime, we can be accepting of others around us and try to get along.

      • NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!!1

    • Tincture of Irony says:

“Human beings without the sense of God can design the most horrible ways to demonstrate their depravity.”

It follows, then, that those *with* the sense of God can exhibit depravity that extends well past horrible. I can’t help but question the priorities of a person who feels a Photoshopped parody of painting is more horrible than burning someone at the stake or blowing people up in an abortion clinic.

    • mars godamus says:

yay! lets all be sheep! and play follow the money man

    • Sandy J says:

Your comment is totally false.Because if history is correct, the leaders of the Inquisition, were men of God.From the Pope,to the men doing the actual tortures. They all were members of the Catholic Church.

      • JO says:

no they were not, they were emersaries of the devil in positions of power within the church. Ordinary dumbasses like most of you with too much power

        • Hope says:

          HOLY FUCK. shiiiit people…
what has religion got to do with this??
There are good and bad people in every religion and good n bad in just about everyone…these people who commence torture are obviously just fucked in the head…end of story….

          • Rach says:

agreed. but, what does race have to do with it? Can we not take your reasoning one step further? individual people are racist, not entire races. therefore, its impossible for all whites, or blacks, to be racist. EVERYONE STOP GENERALIZING!

    • andrew says:

Um, the men of the Inquisition believed fervently in the Christian God (or so they thought), and they did lots of these barbaric things to people in the name of God!!!

  11. Jack says:

all cultures, all religions practice some form of those tortures.
No one is exempt, everyone has skeletons in their closet. Under the “right” circumstances, anyone of us would be capable of doing things like that. There have been numerous studies on the subject. Once a person considers another as less a human being than themselves, it’s game on.

  12. xrayspecs says:

What do you mean “practiced until recently”? Some of these, if not all, are still in use throughout the world. It’s extremely sad what we do to our fellow man…

  13. lonewolf says:

“We just need Christ in our hearts to put back humanity in our selves.”

    ARE YOU RETARDED?

Religion has been one of the key components in all of mankind’s darker times.

I know it is very easy to forget about this fact when you are reading a fairy tail book every night but come on face the facts.

I do not agree with any form of torture, nor do I believe in people killing other people in name of said religion.

    • Defar says:

Atheism & Marxism has done pretty well too – Honecker & Stalin’s gulags, Cambodia’s killing fields, Chinese cultural revolution – about 90 million dead in the last century alone. Way to go.
By the way, anyone shocked at this torture, it aint over – do some research on prisons in Saudi, Syria, Turkey, Somaila, Mauritania, Egypt…

  14. God says:

    @Sam

hey didn’t the church order to torture a lot of people too?

    • anonymous says:

the ones that did that are the false churches, they are led by their own eyes and not God’s, they’re just claiming that it’s for God or God’s intention when it really is just for their own. Really hate it when the church do that, but that’s like, medieval age man :S

    • dude says:

  15. Dizgoalie says:

    @Sam
You may want to take a look back through some history books and discover what the fine folks at the Vatican have been guilty of when people didn’t believe in “their” God.

    …..just sayin’.

    • Aidan says:

Oh yes, interesting fact; The age for legal sexual intercourse in Vatican City is 13. Just think about that.

      • dave says:

yeah and they are part of the un.
there are 21 countries that have similar reduced age laws that belong to the un.
the un constitution will eventually be the world constitution too.
so it stands to reason that when we become subject(s) to the un constitution (after we shit can ours) that we’ll be told that the new laws will allow our 40 year old neighbors to have sex with our 14 year old daughters with no legal recourse.
the french (along with many other countries) don’t have any laws restricitng homsexual conduct between their 14 yearlod children and their 50 year old adults.
not in my fuckin country buddy.

    • JO says:

And you as well. Not wikipukia

  16. Robert M. says:

You’d be foolish to think these torture techniques “were practised until recently”. The U.S. has a long of practicing 8 of the 9 techniques and I don’t think it has stopped. Just because photos aren’t leaking doesn’t mean it is not happening.

  17. fd says:

    waterboarding is NOT torture

  18. Kerahdah says:

I’m always amazed at thenumber of people who will always deny that certain inhuman and inhumane practices continue under their own governments, or those of others. Whether this is a form of denying that they themselves are capable of such practices or not, I cannot say. but there will always be denials despites all the proof in the world.
What does that tell us about tsuch people? I would love to know. Exposure goes a long way to reducing such incidents, denials does nothing at all.

  19. Markie Mark says:

As long as were keeping Al Queida out of America then I will continue to endorse Waterboarding terrorists. God Bless America, I will always remember 9-11

    • anon says:

I bet nobody ever told you that Al Queda was put into power and funded by the CIA, huh? And it hasn’t gone rouge either….

I bet if I waterboarded you for long enough you’d admit to assassinating JFK.

      • JO says:

First off with a name like markie mark , and you being anon, you’ll probably get you ass kicked before you can grab the jug of water. because Walburg will have anone of that

    • Iain says:

      Al Queida didn’t do 9/11…

God Bless America, home of the idiot.

    • andrew says:

The evil is not outside, but is in the mind. Purify your mind of anger and hatred, don’t just see ‘us’ as good and ‘them’ as bad. Good, and bad, lie within the MIND.

If we torture ‘the terrorists’, we have already lost the battle with terrorism; we have become agents of terror ourselves. That is real defeat!

  20. Edward says:

Nine is such a short sampling of the real number of torture methods. I could triple that list for you in about 10 minutes. You would probably have trouble sleeping when I’d finished. My favourite concerns honey and big ants nests. Once you start getting it prepared, your victim often loses control of their bodily functions. I’ve yet to have to actually tie anyone down, bugga. Big ants loosen tongues I guess.
Read up about the Japanese and Nazis in WW2 or the Vietnamese in the sixties. Then for real horror check out Christian Europe. from the crusades to the inquisitions.
    Sleep tight.

    • Antoinette Haubenstricker says:

I’d like to see this list. I’m researching for a book I’m attempting to write.

      ^_^

I’ve googled torture but I get quite a few old classics. I need something a little more than just physical or psychological, but I don’t want to rape or sodomize my main character. Seeing as the most danger she will face is violent, I need to keep it violent but not sexual if you can understand.

Thank you for helping, if you do!

      • Life is a one ticket ride says:

Is your main character hot? Coz if she’s hot, realistically she would get raped. And it wouldn’t be for torture either….

  21. ZeroDrop says:

On the french inquisition, christians invented torture devices and techniques WAY beyond these depicted here! Many so-called witches suffered immense agonies in the hands of torturers of the church before being sent to the fire to die.

Waterboarding IS torture, because you feel like drowning, and you fight against it as you were in fact drowning.

Soft kinds of torture are depicted here. Where’s electric shock? There’s no limits to the cruelty of men.

  22. A.G. says:

    @fd
Waterboarding is not torture? I bet you’ve never had it done on you. I suggest you have it done to you first before making a lame ass statement like that.

  23. A.G. says:

    @ Markie Mark
What a false sense of security you have if you think waterboarding your enemies will keep you safe.

  24. Pokernod says:

Whoever wrote this is no writer. They really should think about doing A LOT more research before just puking out their opinion and placing blame on certain peoples and races and in what they supposedly seem to think as fact. Its bad enough when this crap is put out by someone who is just stupid, but this person has obviously never even read a book on this particular subject. Ridiculous Article!

  25. Dick says:

There are a few I expected to see on here that did not make it.. How does standing in place for several hours beat out getting your stomach ate into by rats? Meh.

  26. anon says:

You know it’s been declassified that people were sodomized with broken glass bottles right?

  27. bonju patten says:

to the moron who wrote above that tortures were not inflicted on the victims of Abu Graub – did you not see the pictures of American Marines who tortured and RAPED men and women who were terrorists. Just because they would do that to us does not mean we have to behave as they do but to be in total denial makes you stupid.

    • JO says:

No, we saw pictures of one woman and two men that took pictures of the prisoners in thier underwear and called them bad names and this story was hyped beyond all reason. Talk reason, not the bullshit you see on the communist news network.Stupid is not being able to learn. That would make you ignorant, as in you just don’t know, but would be easily taught the truth . If not then you are stupid

  28. Wloolframize says:

Ha, He implied racial lynching stopped in the 60′s. Anyone care to google “modern day lynching”? Sorry bud but we still haven’t hit the so-called post racial America. Don’t forget Martin Luther King stoning generation is still alive. The 60′s was only 50 years ago. We still have a long way to go as a people.

  29. Tom says:

“Certainly the worst form of torture, depriving one of his/her senses is the most agonizing torture technique.”

This is the biggest crock of shit I have ever read. Someone with asbolutely no imagination, but likes to think of themselves as deep and clever must have written this.

You literally cannot beat pain and inflicting permanent loss (limbs, eyes, loved ones, etc) as a torture technique, all fears boil down to the fear of pain or fear of loss.

Temporary blocking of the senses is nothing. People actually do it as a way of relaxing.

This list is terrible and unimaginative.

  30. Alfred says:

This is very interesting. People will always torture each other. I was electroconvulted and had pain in my stomach from those injections for many years in my youth. When I had grew up and was 19 they did that again until I fought the police here in The Netherlands violently and won. I never found a job and hear that is just the thing the government wants with people that are nice and politically engaged. Violence is what many people with influence ultimately want. I am glad it is exposed one way or another.

  31. Antoinette Haubenstricker says:

This was actually quite informative on many measures. But at the end, I found it kind of funny that the last note was a comment of how sick our world is, and right after that there is “If you liked this post, click here!”

Oddly enough, I am highly intrigued by torture — more curiosity and to get ideas for conflict in a story than anything else — and I think I have a few more ideas that are possibly being used that me and my brother decided were the worst of the worst.

    1. being skinned alive and dumped into a bath of salty lemon juice to heal you up so we can begin again later.

    2. Crushing someone under a bunch of empty cardboard boxes, slowly.

    3. Restrained in a chair with eyes strapped open, forced to watch brightly colored pictures flash in a slow enough pace to not induce a seizure while listening to chipmunky screamo music. 5 hours straight. (with the visual and audio, it should be quite painful enough for your brain to make you want to die, which is what torture is supposed to do)

    4. Pressing a dulled object (example, spoon) into every single pressure point reachable from back (people are more helpless belly down)

    5. READING THE TWILIGHT SERIES.

    That’s all.

Oh, and for those who are possibly disturbed by this post, those who are violent to imaginary characters to avoid causing conflict outside of these bounds are sane. Although by now a lot of you are worried that someone around me will die horridly, I would like to inform you that I am unnaturally passive and enjoy the pleasures of the imagination.
I don’t take any sort of anti-depressants, bipolar drugs, or any other medication. I’m not seeing a psychiatrist, nor will I be. I do, however have a grand understanding of anatomy and biological wonders, and I have a certain place in my heart for murder stories.

^_^ Please take nothing in this passage too seriously. Internet trash to a comment is oil in a coral reef. Keep our home clean and friendly!

hmm well… have you’ll seen all the torture techniques used during the inquisition in Mexico, or the colonization, or the revolution… there’s a whole friggin’ museum about it…
it’s in Mexico city you’ll like to go and check it out…
and another form of torture that I know is used… is when a person is tied to a pole in the outside, they make them kneel down, tie their ankles then tie their hands to the pole then the ankles to the hands and then blind fold them and lend them starve and suffer from the weather conditions for 24 four hours, making great damage to articulations specially to the knees and ankles cause they are forced and the sinobial liquid tends to spill out of the bag in the knee causing the knees to swell and a horrible pain, the back suffers too and there’s exhaustion etc.
and standing in place for long time without balancing the weight in one feet or another, just been real still is a horrible torture specially in a closed space or if they put u throu your fobia…
    just saying

  33. sir jorge says:

indeed, those are insane for sure

  34. James says:

One of these things is not like the other, one of these things doesn’t belong. Can you tell which thing is not like the others???

Hint: It’s the technique that doesn’t actually cause any permanent damage, especially when it’s carried out per the procedures in place…

  35. rwa says:

Well now our goverment can take an electric sander, and slowly sand down each of the victims fingers. Oh, but that wouldn’t be all… Take a cylindrical sander, and stick it up the victims ass. Bingo we have lift off.. They will talk for sure after screaming of course.

  38. bob says:

the british army in northern ireland interned people without trial, and as a form of torture they blindfolded them and brought them to a helicopter, the helicopter flew for around a minute, thenthe men where held over the edge and dropped. the helicopter was only 2metres from the ground but the prisoners were blindfolded. thats a new level of phycological torture.

  39. 450HPSupra says:

Despicable acts for sure, as for the racist comments: most people dislike whites because of their sense of entitlement. Fact is; the average whites is not very intelligent, and are outperformed by Asians and South Asians (Indians) academically and in the workplace – I would never hire a white, its like paying MORE for an inferior Chevy Cavalier. Most mathematical advancements (the only advancements that matter) came from the non white cultures. So I don’t know where this attitude came from. They are also angry all the time at stupid crap (that they caused) and impatient – you know its true.

This article was very poorly written. A big chunk of the listed ‘forms of torture’ are actually forms of execution.. not torture.

    To Somali Man:

It’s amusing that you label ALL Canadians and Americans (“white people”) as ” greedy fuctards and racist assholes.” I guess it gives North America the opportunity to call ALL Somalians racist, ignorant individuals, just because YOU give a generalization, based on the bad experiences you have had with North Americans.
I am Canadian and a teacher at a school where 86% of the population of students are Somalian. I actively engage in the Somalian community, but I guess I am “oblivious, and dont want to admit” that Im racist. Watch what you generalize and stereotype, because by doing so you show ignorance and clearly contradict yourself. You are now the one who appears to be a “racist fuctard.”
I’m sorry you have had such terrible experiences with “white people,” but the ones you have encountered are certainly pathetic individuals. That doesnt mean all Canadians and Americans are “racist fuctards” or “oblivious.”
Its actually you who is oblivious to your own ignorance.
Make sure you read what I am saying carefully before assuming I am being racist.

  45. Dafadizi says:

These torture techniques are currently practiced every day in China, as a means to force Falun Dafa practitioners to give up their practice and write statements that they will not practice again.

Picture number 4 is from a collection of paintings by Falun Dafa practitioners which illustrate various aspects of the practice, including the tortures inflicted upon practitioners in China.

Picture number 5 is from a collection of drawings showing the various tortures.

    This is happening now, today.

There is a list of articles at

    http://clearwisdom.net/html/cate-38-Torture-Methods/
telling of torture incidents in China.

There is an article with photos, drawings and paintings of tortures used on Falun Dafa practitioners at

    http://clearwisdom.net/html/articles/2004/9/1/51972.html

This includes photos of those who were tortured to death.

Don’t kid yourself, tortures you would never dream of are being used in China today. Think about it whenever you buy some cheap goods Made in China.

  46. Roger Snowden says:

To correct the record, lynching was extremely rare by the 1940s. And it was not stopped by the efforts of MLK Jr., in particular. He raised awareness of the civil rights movement in the late 1950s and into the 1960s, but lynching was already almost non-existent by then.

Most of the legal change in civil rights law, and enforcement, came about because of the Eisenhower administration in the 1950s, following the Brown v Board of Education decision of 1956.

Also, for those who imagine racism is a right wing / Republican thing, the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act were both instigated and brought to fruition by Republicans, and were filibustered by Democrats.

Jim Crow laws, the KKK and lynching were all products of Democrat politicians in the South and the racism of Democrats and Progressives.

  47. Monty says:

    RE all the racist comments.

If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you’re not afraid to announce it, but when we announce our white pride, you call us racists. You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us but when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist. I am proud, But you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racist? There is nothing improper about this message. But how many will agree? Very few, I feel.
Thats why we have lost our rights! We wont stand up for ourselves! BE PROUD TO BE WHITE! It’s not a crime…. YET!!

Lynching still exists. Less than a month ago, 2 people were hung. I forgot which city it was in, but I think it was in Davie, Fl. My journalism teacher was telling us about it and showed us the newspaper. So Dr. Martin Luther King Jr didn’t completely abolish lynching….. unfortunately.
